THE MAIN AIMS OF THE CONFERENCE ARE:

 

The Chernobyl accident resulted in many changes, not only in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia,  but around the whole world. International standards on radiation protection, national strategies on the development of nuclear power, strengthening of nuclear safety and radioactive waste management have been revised. Twenty years after the accident is a good time for the international community to review and discuss these issues.

The purpose of conference is better utilization of the experience gained from the accident enabling the world to be better prepared for any future accident of this magnitude

WORKING LANGUAGES

 

Conference working languages are Ukrainian, Russian and English. All plenary meetings and the four technical sessions will be simultaneously translated into all three languages. To obtain the technical devices for simultaneous translation one should address to Registration desk.

During the presentations of poster reports translation will not be provided.

Representatives of mass media, who wish to provide information about the Conference, will be accredited at the press centre of the Ministry of Ukraine of Emergencies and Affairs of Population Protection from the Consequences of Chornobyl Catastrophe. Concerning accreditation questions, please contact Head of the press centre of the Ministry of Emergency Mr. I. Krol’,         tel: (38 044) 247 30 30, 247 30 46.

For accreditation, mass media representative is required to have corresponding documents. During the Conference each mass media representative will receive an identification mass media badge, which should be worn during all Conference time. 

Accredited mass media representatives will be permitted to any meeting of the Conference. However, they will not be able to participate.
